Mission

We seek to raise the visibility of API transmasculine narratives by including a broad range of art and writing that reflects the diversity of our communities. In publishing this anthology, as both a physical book and digital volume, we can amplify our stories as authentically and accessibly as possible.

Framework

Transmasculine and gender nonconforming people are a frequently overlooked demographic, even within the API queer community. We wrestle with a complex intersection of gender, intercultural expectations, and intergenerational trauma.

As immigrants and the children of immigrants, gender identity and expression can define and determine our connection to the API diaspora. Our struggle for representation outside of the monolithic “model minority” stereotype parallels our struggle for understanding outside of the gender binary. Through careful documentation and testimony, our inclusive grassroots project creates opportunities to cultivate a vibrant API transmasculine community. This diverse range of art and storytelling will inspire future generations of API transmasculine folks to join us and expand their own perennial support networks.
